Check-out Process

The check-out process marks the end of your Seayott boat rental experience. Following proper check-out procedures ensures a smooth conclusion to your booking and helps maintain good relationships with boat owners.

Timing and Preparation

Most boat rentals have check-out times between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, though this varies by owner and location. Plan to return at least 30 minutes before your scheduled check-out time to allow for inspection and administrative tasks.

Begin preparing for check-out the night before by cleaning the vessel, organizing equipment, and refueling if required. This advance preparation helps ensure you won't be rushed during the final inspection process.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Clean the boat thoroughly according to the owner's cleaning checklist, typically provided during check-in. This includes removing all personal belongings, disposing of trash properly, and cleaning interior surfaces.

Check that all equipment is returned to its proper location and that water tanks are drained if specified. Some owners may charge additional cleaning fees if the vessel isn't returned in acceptable condition.

Final Inspection

Your boat owner will conduct a final walkthrough to assess the vessel's condition and verify that all equipment is present and functional. This inspection compares the boat's current state to its condition at check-in.

Be present during the inspection to address any questions or concerns immediately. Most issues can be resolved quickly, but documentation helps protect both parties if disputes arise later.

Security Deposit Return

Security deposits are typically processed within 3-7 business days after check-out, assuming no damages or additional charges apply. You'll receive confirmation once the deposit has been released back to your payment method.

Any deductions from your security deposit will be clearly documented and communicated to you with supporting evidence such as photos or repair invoices.
